Sessions at Millington Road Nursery School are organised so that the children have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of activities; promoting independence and preparing them for school.

Children attending the Nursery School take part in large and small adult-led group activities and are also encouraged to participate in lots of child-led activities, enabling them to learn through structured play and work with others to gain social skills, all while having fun! Staff ratios at the Nursery School are: 1 adult to 8 children (3 years and up) and 1 adult to 4 children (2 years to 3 years).

The Millington Road Nursery School routine ensures that all children have the opportunity to be outside for most of their sessions. Outdoor activities are very important and contribute to a child’s health and overall wellbeing; we are proud of our outdoor facilities, where children enjoy playing and learning:

  • in the mud kitchen;
  • with the fairy houses;
  • on the wooden train, wobbly bridge and tree walk;
  • with outdoor art activities;
  • with our watering cans;
  • with our herb and flower garden.

It is important that both you and your child are happy at Millington Road Nursery School. Some children take longer to settle in than others, so parents are always welcome to stay with their children for as long as is necessary.
