Millington Road Nursery School

Set down a leafy lane in Newnham, Cambridge, Millington Road Nursery School attracts children from all over the world. Our highly qualified and experienced practitioners and administrative staff work in partnership with Parents and Carers. The Nursery School, a five-minute bike ride from Cambridge city centre, provides a cosmopolitan and exciting cultural environment for children, and promotes learning with equal opportunities for all.

Established over 50 years ago, Millington Road Nursery School is committed to being as eco-friendly as possible. The children are taught the importance of caring for the environment for future generations – they enjoy recycling, composting, saving energy, and attracting and protecting the local wildlife. We are open to all children from two years and over, on a 15 hour funded basis or privately, or a mixture of both. We also offer bursaries to support those families who would find it hard financially for their children to attend.

It is important to us at the Nursery School that we provide a happy and caring environment where children (and their families) feel secure and cared for. We aim to present learning opportunities in stimulating, diverse and fun ways so that children leave us feeling confident and well-prepared for school. Our children enjoy regular lessons from external teachers of music and sport which are included in our session cost or free if you are using funded hours.

The Nursery School has a strong ethos of providing activities that children can choose independently, so that they learn through free, purposeful and collaborative play. Embedded in Millington Road Nursery School is a feeling of enjoyment and participation in life-long learning.
