COVID STATEMENT

Millington Road Nursery School has been open for Key Workers throughout the summer term, and looks forward to welcoming all our children in September 2020.

We are all currently living through uncertain times and there have been many changes to all our lives.  We hope that everyone remains safe and well and that the current situation will improve in the near future.  The committed and dedicated staff have enabled the nursery to remain open for the children of Key Workers during the Covid19 pandemic. Since 1 June 2020 and following government guidelines, the staff have been able to welcome more children back to Millington Road Nursery School.  The hard work of the entire Millington Road Nursery School community has enabled children to attend nursery in a safe and happy environment and continue to learn, develop and play.  The beautiful nursery garden has been invaluable in enabling the children to be outside for the majority of the day and continues to be a happy and fun setting for all the children to learn and explore.

The nursery closed for the summer holidays on Tuesday 7th July 2020 and the staff will continue to monitor the Covid19 situation during the summer.  We will follow government guidelines and monitor new developments relating to Early Years settings and hope to reopen, as scheduled, for the new term on Thursday 10th September 2020.

We always love to hear from prospective families.  Whilst it is difficult to visit the nursery at the moment, we are very happy to discuss any new applications and welcome new families to Millington Road Nursery School.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information about the nursery – .

Storytime with the storyteller in the garden at the Nursery

It is important to us at the Nursery School that we provide a happy and caring environment where children (and their families) feel secure and cared for. We aim to present learning opportunities in stimulating, diverse and fun ways so that children leave us feeling confident and well-prepared for school. Our children enjoy regular visits from our storyteller, puppet performances and language lessons.

The Nursery School has a strong ethos of providing activities that children can choose independently, so that they learn through free, purposeful and collaborative play. Embedded in Millington Road Nursery School is a feeling of enjoyment and participation in life-long learning.
